Helena Bittencourt and Goos Meeuwsen


Are actors, clowns, creators and directors.

The duo performs Bianco su Bianco, a clown and theater piece, written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca (Cia Finzi Pasca, Switzerland) in many different countries. Among them, Finland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Canada, Romania, Denmark and Mexico.
In 2019 they were lead characters in LIFE the Show (Strut & Fret, Australia) and with the Touchstones foundation (Arnhem) they created, performed and directed a serie of shows: Faschionata, Stroom, Durf, Hoop, Bloes, VerWarMe, Vrij and Machtig from 2015 to 2023. The eight creations reached more than 5,000 spectators every year. They directed the ópera St Louis Blues in coproduction with Musis Sacrum in Arnhem, Touchstones and the Orchestra De Ereprijs, and the Clown performance HumanActs, performed at Theaters and Festivals in The Netherlands and Italy.

Among others they also created and performed Playing for Eurydice in collaboration with the ensemble L’ Autre Monde and the academy of art and performance Frankfurt (2013, Germany) and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil they wrote, direct and performed the musical clown performance Mar Aberto and performed in the contemporary dance piece Philodendrus by Cristina Moura.

Goos and Helena performed and created the comedy performance The Clown (2021, Funniest Festival), And the multimedia musical performance PROVA! (2022, Het Rembrandt Theater) that after became a full length film.

Other short films: Show with a Honorable mention at the London Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival, the Best Movie Award at Playing the Fool Film Fest (Canada), Kit-Chen, awarded with Best Comedy Short at Istanbul Film Festival and Tales of Lovely Locked Losing Heroes, winner of the Best Creative Short at European Film Festival and Best ScreenPlay at Sidney Multicultural Film Fest.

In 2023 they co-created and performed Cupido and co-directed Paraiso and Celeste both productions of Cirque Bouffon (Germany) with in the following year 2024 they directed the annual show of the graduating 42nd cohort of the National Circus School of Montreal Tomber, en Amour presented at the TOHU, Montreal, Canada.


Goos Meeuwsen

Arnhem, The Netherlands

Goos Meeuwsen studied at the École Nationale de Cirque in Montreal. Specialized as a clown, he joined the cast of Cirque du Soleil's production Love, The Beatles (Las Vegas), as one of the main characters. He was part of the creation process and the performances of many plays as an actor, clown and dancer/acrobat, including Paradis Perdu from Dominic Champagne (Montreal), Aaatchoum, from Theater le l'Aubergine (Quebec), Adios, (The Netherlands and Argentina) and Angell from Cirque Bouffon and GOP Variete (Germany). He directed coulisse at Circus Starlight (Switzerland) and the Cirque du Soleil’s show at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. In 2008 he won the Annie Fratellini award and the circus school of Moscow award at the Cirque de Demain Festival (Paris) for his work as a clown.

Helena Bittencourt

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Helena Bittencourt studied at the Theater University (Uni-Rio) and at the National Circus School. She joined the cast of Cirque du Soleil's Corteo as an acrobat, clown and singer. Part of Cia Finzi Pasca since 2010, she was in the creation and cast of Donka, A Letter to Tchekov, touring for more than 6 years in major theaters and festivals, including BAM (New York), Teatro Nacional (Uruguai), Teatro Nacional (Ecuador), Sescs (Brazil) and others. She was part of Manicomics Teatre (Italy), Intrepida Trupe (Brazil), Circus Klezmer and Circ Ozo (Spain) and Compania Ensaio Aberto (Brazil). She founded the Coletivo OH! Ceus! directing and writing several plays.
